Two arrested swiftly in Newtown following burglary |
||
|
Hello Resident,
I just wanted to share a good piece of work conducted by Beat Officers yesterday in Newtown. Police received a report of two people breaking into a property in the early hours of Thursday morning before fleeing the area. Numerous enquiries were completed at the scene and two suspects were identified by Beat Officers. They were located at a nearby address and arrested on suspicion of burglary the same day.
Numerous members of the public came forward to assist with our enquiries and provided vital information that assisted in the arrest of the suspects. This result demonstrates the importance of prompt reporting and the ongoing work of local officers to keep our communities safe.
In light of this I have provided some safety tips below: 🏠 Always ensure doors and windows are locked, even when you are at home. 🔑 Keep keys out of sight and away from doors, letterboxes and windows. 💡 Use timer switches on lights when away from home to give the impression that someone is in. 📹 Consider installing CCTV, video doorbells or other security devices. 🚗 Lock vehicles, remove valuables and never leave keys inside. 🤝 Look out for your neighbours and report any suspicious activity to police. 📞 In an emergency, or if a crime is in progress, call 999. Report non-emergency concerns via 101 or online.
Kind regards | ||
